John and Harriet Wiebe Mission Advancement Fund

The LCMS Foundation announces an annual, limited number of distributions up to $10,000 each from the John and Harriet Wiebe Mission Advancement Fund. LCMS congregations, schools and Recognized Service Organizations are invited to submit proposals dated no earlier than August 1 and no later than September 30.

All proposals must include a completed application. Proposals will be acted on by the Foundation no later than October 31.

Proposals should be directed toward one or more of the following objectives:

  • Starting new mission outreach activities
  • Strengthening existing mission outreach activities
  • Advancing ministries that address the needs of children

Examples of proposals that have been approved in the past are:

  • Expanded Gospel outreach using Facebook and Twitter
  • Technology improvements for congregational worship
  • Gospel outreach in an ethnically diverse and culturally changing community
  • Outreach to college and university students in a major metropolitan area
  • Outreach through Lutheran elementary schools
  • Revitalization of youth and family and ministries in an established community

Distributions are one-time only and not renewable, but congregations, entities and RSOs may submit proposals in more than one year.
