Advantages through the Foundation -- You can make your gift through the Foundation that will still benefit ministry immediately, but there are certain advantages.

• You can make one tax-deductible gift and direct the Foundation to distribute various amounts to several ministries


• You can establish an endowment that continues to distribute amounts to ministry


• You can give stock, mutual funds or other securities so that the ministry receives prompt distribution and you avoid tax on gains


• The Foundation can help you with a gift/sale of real estate that will provide the gift you want for ministry while you retain a portion for your own needs

Indirectly -- You can buy real estate that someone else has donated to the Foundation for ministry. While your purchase is not a gift because you receive something, the money you pay will be used for LCMS ministries! Read more.
